A squad of Italian soldiers are ambushed by foes they never expected. This scene comes from Lord of the Peaks, which you can check out here.
After Hours Bonus Podcast: A Discussion of The Room
by
•Shaun and I watched The Room at the Alamo Drafthouse last year. It was his first time watching it. After it, we discussed the movie. What did Sahun think of the cult classic? It’s…complex.
I have been saving this podcast for a rainy day and since I am heading to Los Angeles for Patrecon (a conference for Patreon creators Nov 1 to 3) I am posting it now. We will still have a regular episode of After Hours this month and a new episode of Don’t Cross the Stream, but scheduling issues have kept me from recording them yet. When I get back, I will get them recorded and posted as soon as I can.
Don’t Cross the Stream: Blade 1 and 2
by
•For our spooky October episode, we head back to the late 90s and early 2000s for a double dose of Blade, the vampire hunter. Wesley Snipes looked very cool in his sunglasses and leather trench coat as he murdered the World of Darkness, one bloodsucker at a time. Birk, Richard, and newcomer Kat from Best Pal Brigade joins us as we figure out what kind of fun games we can make from the first cool superhero movies.
After Hours: The Were-Predator
by
•Aaron, Tom, and I recently saw The Predator, the latest flick in the venerable sci-fi franchise. It was a hot mess, to put it lightly. So, how else can we improve it? Add another hot mess, of course! Each of us took some elements from Synnibarr, the classic fantasy heartbreaker RPG.
I also review Edge-On, an adventure anthology for the Cyberspace RPG. It’s weird.
RPPR Illustrated: Call of Catthulhu: Night of the LOLcats
by
•The cast of of a particularly memorable one shot adventure, in which a group of pets saves the world from a dangerous evil.
Don’t Cross the Stream: Bound and Deep Blue Sea
by
•In this special double feature episode, we cover two cult classics from the 90s: Bound and Deep Blue Sea. One features women who love women who love crime and the other features genetically altered sharks. Bridget and Fae and I talk about Bound, while Richard, Birk, and Aaron and I look at Deep Blue Sea.
Extended Early Access: Dagashi OVA Season 1 at Gen Con 2018
by
•Bridget ran a one shot set in the Dagashi universe for high level backers and RPPR cast members at Gen Con 2018. If you wanted to keep up with Dagashi, then this is your chance to find out what happens next.
After Hours: Kill Team Six
by
•If you had to lead a squad of soldiers in the Warhammer 40k universe, who would they be and what is their mission? That’s the question I put to Aaron, Tom, and Shaun. I also reviewed two fine books:
- Spies of Lightelf: A Judge’s Guild supplement for The WIlderlands campaign setting. A kingdom of gnomes, infested with spies, and random plant encounter tables.
- Night of the Shark: An AD&D adventure about sharks and shark men and a monstrous entity called the Apodalypse, even though it’s shark based and that name makes no sense.
RPPR Illustrated: Wrath & Glory – Blessings Unheralded
by
•A brave group of the Imperium’s finest battle a horde of poxwalkers. Don’t ask where the priest got that hover chair.
After Hours: Adam Scott Glancy reviews liquor at Gen Con 2018
by
•Adam Scott Glancy at Pagan Publishing was kind enough to review several liquors for us at Gen Con 2018. In the style of the Mixed Six, he used a 5 point scale, using WW1 firearms as the basis. Learn a bit about the history of firearms and find out how good Taiwan is at making whisky!
