After Hours: Pitching Netflix

After the release of the Bright  teaser trailer, it has become clear to us that Netflix is buying whatever geeky/RPG material they can find. So I convened a round table of the RPPR cast (Caleb, Dan, Tom, and Shaun) to figure out some of the best pitches we could share with Netflix. Find out the secret behind the crying child in a barrel!

Titles reviewed or mentioned:

  • Rolemaster: Castles and Ruins
  • Warmachine: The Quasi-Historical Retro Sci-Fi RPG
  • WWE: Know Your Role d20 RPG
  • Chrome Book 4
  • Cyberspace: Death Game 2090

RPPR After Hours: Kojima’s Friend Fiction

Aaron, Caleb, and I discuss Death Stranding, Hideo Kojima’s soon-to-be masterpiece of…something? No one is quite sure what the game will be about, but it’s gotta be great! We also review 3 books:

  • CyberRogues: A supplement from our favorite 1980s cyberpunk RPG, Cyberspace! WHY IS THERE A YETI IN THIS BOOK?
  • ApoKERMIS Now! A Ghostbusters International adventure about stopping frat parties…OF THE DAMNED.
  • Abyss: Role play as demons in hell. It turns out that it’s a lot like D&D.

After Hours: Kingstarter

future-kingOur listeners have been sending in some great review fodder, so Caleb reviews Cyberskelter, a scenario anthology for Cyberspace, the same RPG that was responsible for Death Valley Free Prison. I review part of the Future King, a batshit insane RPG/adventure that takes six very specific heroes from history to save King Athur. We also discuss some Kickstarter-related topics, such as a certain con artist and the practicality of Chaosium’s Horror on the Orient Express.
